Jeeva was born on 30th of November in 1952. He has mostly acted in Telugu films throughout his career. He has acted in over a thousand movies in his entire career as an actor. He has acted in Theater dramas, short films, documentaries, and much more. He has also acted in some Bollywood films but, all under the direction of Ram Gopal Verma. He was born in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. Jeeva was born with the name Kocharla Dayarathnam. It was quite a big name. When he entered the film industry, eminent film director K.Balachandran proposed Jeeva as his career name. So Kocharla became famous as Jeeva. Tholi Koodi Kosindi was the debut Telugu film of Jeeva and the film was directed by none other than his mentor K.Balachandran.

He had worked hard for a role in this film. Thousands of young actors had applied for a role, but he fought them all and won the role. Jeeva has worked with Ram Gopal Varma, A.R. Murugadoss and many other such eminent and brilliant directors. Tholi Kodi Kusandi was released in the year 1981. Jeeva is a very important member of the South Indian Film Industry and has been an integral part for more than three decades. He has acted in over 250 Telugu movies. He made his debut in Bollywood with the film Satya in the year 1998. The name of the role which he played on-screen was Jagga Hyderabadi. Then he acted in Ab Tak Chappan in the year 2004. The name of his role was Commissioner M. I. Suchek.
